Japan’s vast and diverse cityscapes from a new perspective, different
from Singapore’s compact urban environment.
Important: This Street Kart experience is a service limited
to Japan only. We do not operate Street Kart services in Singapore.
Please enjoy this as a special experience during your visit to
Japan.
From Singapore, the Garden City, to Japan with its four seasons. When
the advanced urban cultures of both countries meet, new discoveries and
emotions are born. Why not explore the streets where Japanese tradition
and innovation merge, through the new method of Street Kart?
Japanese Street
Kart – Unique Urban Exploration
Japanese Street Kart is a free and personal urban tourism experience,
different from Singapore’s efficient public transport. With small karts
that can travel on public roads, you can explore Japan’s streets at your
own pace. Especially, the ability to drive while wearing Japanese anime
character cosplay is a special experience unique to Japan in the
world.
With Singaporeans’ international sensibility and adventurous spirit,
you will quickly understand the charm of this unique tourism style. You
can enjoy direct contact with the city that cannot be experienced on MRT
or buses.
Safety is as strict as in Singapore. All vehicles meet Japan’s safety
standards and are accompanied by experienced guides. English support is
perfect, and we have staff who understand Singlish as well.
Journey from Singapore to
Japan
Direct flights from Changi Airport to Japan are abundant. Singapore
Airlines, JAL, ANA, Scoot, Jetstar and many other options are available.
There are direct flights to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, with
flight times of about 6-7 hours.
Singapore passport holders do not need a visa to enter Japan for
tourism purposes within 90 days. Immigration procedures are smooth, and
tourists from Singapore are welcomed.
The time difference is just 1 hour (Japan is 1 hour behind), so
there’s no worry about jet lag. Even without long holidays, you can
easily enjoy a trip to Japan.
Tokyo – Megacity Experience
Tokyo is a megacity with about 11 times the area of Singapore. Areas
like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, and Asakusa each have different
personalities scattered throughout. Unlike Singapore’s efficiently
organized city, you can feel the charm of an organically developed
city.
Harajuku and Omotesando are upscale shopping areas like Orchard Road,
but with more diverse cultures coexisting. You can experience a wide
range of Japanese culture from the latest fashion to traditional
crafts.
Akihabara’s electronics district is incomparably larger than Sim Lim
Square. As the holy land of anime and electronics, tourists gather from
all over the world.
Osaka – City of Merchants
Osaka, like Singapore, is a city that developed through commerce, but
has a more down-to-earth and friendly atmosphere. The liveliness of
Dotonbori is filled with Japanese-style energy, different from Clarke
Quay or Boat Quay.
B-class gourmet foods like takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and kushikatsu are
popular tastes similar to Singapore’s hawker food. However, the
seasoning is not as spicy as Singapore cuisine, emphasizing the umami of
dashi broth.
Osaka Castle is a representative example of Japanese castle
architecture. It’s a magnificent structure completely different in scale
and style from Singapore’s Fort Canning.
Japan’s
Four Seasons – Experiences Not Available in Singapore
Spring cherry blossoms (late March to April) offer beauty that cannot
be experienced in tropical Singapore. The sight of all of Japan dyed in
pink is truly a natural miracle. Hanami culture is also a unique way of
enjoying the seasons.
Summer (June to August) is humid and hot, but not as much as
Singapore. You can enjoy Japanese summer traditions like fireworks
displays, summer festivals, and yukata.
Autumn foliage (September to November) is another natural art form.
The sight of mountains dyed in red and yellow is beauty unimaginable in
tropical Singapore.
Winter snow scenes (December to February) are a special experience
for many Singaporeans. There are winter-specific enjoyments like making
snowmen and skiing.
Services for Singaporeans
English support is perfect, and many staff understand Singapore
English (Singlish). From safety briefings to tourist guidance,
everything can be handled in English.
Halal support is also extensive. We provide information on halal
restaurants for Muslims and guidance to prayer facilities. More and more
restaurants in Japan are obtaining halal certification.
Cashless payments are also advancing. Transportation IC cards like
Suica and PASMO can be used just like Singapore’s EZ-Link card.
Gourmet Information
Japanese ramen is popular in Singapore too, but the authentic taste
is exceptional. You can enjoy diverse flavors like tonkotsu, shoyu,
miso, and shio. The spiciness is mild, but can be adjusted according to
your preference.
Sushi has different freshness from Japanese restaurants in Singapore.
You can enjoy authentic sushi using fresh seafood directly from Tsukiji
(Toyosu).
Wagyu beef is known as a luxury ingredient in Singapore too, but
wagyu eaten in Japan is in a class of its own. You can savor authentic
flavors like Kobe beef and Matsusaka beef.
Reservation and Pricing
The online reservation system is fully English-compatible and can
display prices in Singapore dollars. All major credit cards are
accepted, and more stores are supporting PayNow and GrabPay.
For pricing details, please check the official website. You can enjoy
at reasonable price ranges considering Singapore’s cost of living.
The cancellation policy is clear, with free cancellation possible up
to 48 hours before. In case of bad weather, we offer full refunds or
date changes.
Safety and Practical
Information
Japan, like Singapore, is one of the safest countries in the world.
However, unlike Singapore’s strict laws, self-management is
important.
An international driving license is required. Singapore driving
license holders can easily obtain one at AA Singapore. Japan also has
left-hand traffic, so you won’t feel uncomfortable driving.
Medical insurance is essential. Medical costs in Japan are expensive,
and Singapore medical insurance does not apply. Please purchase adequate
overseas travel insurance.
Other Japanese Experiences
Hot springs are a unique Japanese culture not found in Singapore. You
may initially be confused by the custom of bathing naked, but the
relaxation effect is outstanding.
Mount Fuji is a sacred mountain 3,776m high, incomparably higher than
Singapore’s Bukit Timah Hill. You can enjoy mountain climbing or views
from the fifth station.
The Shinkansen experience is also popular. Trains traveling at over
300km/h offer a completely different experience from Singapore’s
MRT.
Summary
The Street Kart experience in Japan is the best opportunity for
Singaporeans to experience Japan’s vastness and diversity. Discover
Japan’s organic charm, different from Singapore’s efficient
city-state.
For your next holiday, why not enjoy a new Street Kart adventure in
Japan, just a 6-hour flight away? We sincerely look forward to welcoming
all Singaporeans.
Welcome to Japan! Selamat datang! 欢迎! ようこそ日本へ!
